Hand Made Golden Lily Shoes (CoLY01)

Step into mysterious ancient China with these collectible golden lily shoes.  These gorgeous handcrafted shoes feature a bright color design with hand embroidered flower or butterfly accents on soft silk/rayon fabric.  The shoes measure 5.25 inches long overall and 2.5 inches high.  The sole is made of cotton.

The shoes come in your choice of red and blue (with flowers) or red and black (with flowers).

Each pair of the shoes are individually hand sewn by women in villages in China.

The “Golden Lily” feet used to be a symbol of gentility and elegance in ancient China.  The practice of foot binding was outlawed in 1911.  In remote mountain regions, girls still had their feet bound as late as 1949.   The last factory producing Golden Lily shoes closed in 1998.
