The Monkey King has been a household name in China for centuries. It is the main character in the renowned classical Chinese novel "Journey to West",written by Wu Ch'eng-en(1500?-1582). The novel was based on a true story of a famous Chinese monk, Xuan Zang (602-664). After years of trials and tribulations, he traveled on foot to what is today India, the birthplace of Buddhism, to seek for the Buddhist holy book.

"Journey to West"is filled with stormy adventures of the gentle Tang Monk with his three capable disciples, Monkey King, Ba-Jie the Pig and Sand Monk. One of their most thrilling adventures is the fight with Fan Princess and her husband Monster OX in the Flaming Mountains.
